Holiday Give-Away Day

Give-Away Day

Set of 3 ornaments, including (1) 5 inch and (2) 2.5 inch balls
You can pick this set or the one pictured in my post from yesterday, so specify in your comment.

A zipper pouch which I'll fill with a few surprises including these hair goodies.

I'm so excited to participate in this years Give-Away Day. Thank you for checking in today, and I hope that you return again. I also want to mention that I will be selling my things on etsy very soon, so if you see anything you like check back or email me.
Now here's how to win: Leave a comment about your favorite Christmas ornament. You can include description, why it's your favorite, when you received it, whatever you think I need to know etc. I'll pick a winner Saturday morning. I will ship anywhere in the continental U.S. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Here's one of my favorite ornaments. I can remember it on the tree when I was a kid, but I'm not sure exactly where it came from. Every year I can remember fighting with my sister to put this one and another one similar to it on the tree. It reminds me of the puppets from Mr. Rodger's when he went to the land of make believe. Just looking at it sparks a story of a girl and her daily adventures, and that my friend puts a big smile on my face.

My favorite ornaments are a little wooden man and woman. They were dressed in red outfits, and the man wore a Russian-style hat on his head. They were so cute. We used to take them off the tree and play with them.

I used to have this ornament that I made when I was about 6 years old. It was an old fashioned clothes pin with googley eyes and a red nose, like Rudolph! I had that one, and my sister had this hideous foam ice cream cone that she made when she was little. They went on the tree every year for over 20 years, until the dog ate 'em. Darn dog. (my blog is damknit.com and my email is damknit at gmail dot com) Thanks for participating!

My hubby makes me a beaded ornament every year, and if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the first one he made me. My son and daughter-in-law also give me an ornament every year, and if I had to pick one, it would be the llama that they sculpted with polymer clay to look like our baby llama that was born that year.

My favorite ornament is from a craft fair my mom went to when I was in first grade, i remeber the fair vividly! The ornament is the cutest dough bear sitting ontop of a very small pinecone.. I still love craft fairs! Please enter me in the drawing for your lovely give-away!

I love the set you posted yesterday. Those colours pop out.

My favorite decoration for the tree is one I bought to remind me of my daughter who died. I needed something of her around me during the holiday season so I could get through it, and I found one that really represents my love of her.

Hi! My favorite ornament is a toy soldier made out of yarn, with a felt face. I've had him FOREVER, and he MUST be the first ornament on the tree, placed over the spot where Santa puts my gifts. He's my soldier and he protects my gifts of course! I'm 37 this year, and he's still my favorite, still first on the tree, and I haven't lost a gift yet!

My fav ornament is one that is at my Mum's house back in New Zealand. Just the smell of it instantly meant it was Christmas. I know, sounds weird, but that's how it is! Love your giveaway items. I like the purse with the floral fabric:)

My mom was the stereotypical "hippie". So throughout my whole childhood and now on my own grown-up tree, I have ornaments that she bought in 1969. They are white pearlized ornament balls. Standard glass balls. But on each one in pink glitter is a piece sign. There is a set of six. Totally retro! Love them!~

Katie @ makingthishome.com said...

What a fun prize you have made! My favorite ornament says "baby's first Christmas". I don't remember getting it, of course, since it was for my first Christmas. But my mom puts it on her tree every year with ones for my siblings. They remind me of all the memories of Christmases our family has shared here in the US where I am now (despite being primarily based in Germany).
Thank you.

It's so hard to choose just one favorite ornament! One of my favorites is from when I was little and taking ballet classes. It's a wooden ballerina that has moving arms and legs that you can make dance by pulling a string hanging from the bottom of the ornament.

cute!! my favorite is the angel that goes on top of the tree!!

Stephanie said...

What a great idea for Christmas ornaments. I love both sets - they would go with my tree because it's entirely scrappy. We're not one of those families that have matching ornaments or a theme to our tree. Every single ornament we have is a hand-me-down or hand made by someone or purchased for a specific event. So everytime we decorate the tree it is like revisiting all of those moments & people that have passed through our lives. I guess my favorite is the stuffed mitten that I made of felt when I was seven. It's a bit tatty now but I love that thing. :)

Hannah said...

My fave Christmas ornament is a little angel that a very dear elderly neighbor, who is now deceased, made for me when I was a wee little girl. The angel is made out of a egg carton, decorated with glitter, and has a styrofoam head.

Thanks for doing this!

My favorite ornament isn't technically an ornament, I guess...It's a tiny stuffed squirrel that my grandma knitted a long time ago (we've had it for at least as long as I can remember), and it's so soft and cuddly...I can't even remember if there's actually a hanging string on it or not, but we always just sit him on one of the tree branches!

The first year we were married my mom made us a set of pasta angels, but these weren't just any pasta angels. They were painted to look like us, and they even had a little miniature dog that looked like ours. She had made a little sign in the middle with our names and the year. I still have it, and after 11 years, it is still on a very prominent part of the tree.

Definitely the painted-red clothespin with a white velvet teddy bear, who is wearing a bow tie, sitting on top. my favorite ornament is a white porcelain angel with a golden sash. It belonged to my husband's grandmother, whom I never had a chance to meet. It's just so beautiful and simple, and I like knowing that it graced Grandma's tree before mine.

Favorite ornament(s) are the ones made by my then little preschoolers hands. They are all grown now 20,19,16 and 13; but I still love their handy work.
